Idea Bank is located in historic, downtown Hastings, a South Central Nebraska town in the heart of wide-open plains. A population of 22,000 allows Hastings to offer both a high quality of life and affordability. We’re also an easy, 20-minute drive from Grand Island, a regional retail and commerce center with a population of 50,000.
Known for shady streets, a thriving cultural environment, and beautiful historic homes, Hastings is the home of Hastings College, one of the best liberal arts colleges in the country. Central Community College, located just outside of town, offers a wide variety of 2-year associate programs, and classes that can be transferred to 4-year bachelor’s degree programs, too. CCC offers a fantastic array of personal enrichment classes, too.
Hastings offers an active downtown district and enthusiastic business environment. And there’s always something to do in a lineup of entertainment options that include the Cottonwood Festival, Kool-Aid Days, Hastings Symphony Orchestra, the Listening Room, Prairie Loft Arts and Nature Center, Hastings Museum, Hastings Community Theatre, Clyde Sachtleben Observatory, Smith Softball Complex and more. Hastings is big enough to keep you busy, but small enough for you to get involved and make a difference in the city where you live and work.
