A: While most local broadcast and cable outlets (in Nebraska) are not yet broadcasting local advertisements in HD, capturing and editing commercials in this format is preferred for a number of reasons.
Shooting and editing in HD allows the video to maintain the highest quality throughout the production process. Even when down-graded to standard definition for broadcast, HD commercials will retain much of their fidelity.
Also, the finished production, as well as any other captured footage will be viable long after standard definition has disappeared. Having your commercial produced in HD will provide the longest possible life for the footage.
