Learn the Lingo:

Word of the Day: Navigation

Online, the term "navigation" refers to the way visitors travel through your website to access what is of interest to them. "Navigation bars" are a group of buttons that appear in a horizontal row at the top of the page. (We call the vertical column of buttons on the left side of the web page a "menu.")

Idea Bank creates entire "navigation systems" that let users intuitively navigate your site and find the information they seek quickly and easily.

Tips & Tricks:

Control navigation with the "Show in menu" box

The "Show in menu" box allows you to control what pages appear in your navigation system, whether they are main buttons or "popup" buttons. Here's how:

    - Login: to your CMS* (and don't click the "Preview" button).
    - Edit: Click on the page icon in the site tree and select "Edit Document".
    - Check: In the "General" tab (1), check "Show in menu" (2) to cause your page to appear, or uncheck to make it invisible.

Features:

Build Repeat Customers

Clients often ask, "How can I increase return visits to my site?" Our first response is usually Fresh Content. This is easy to achieve with "dynamic" content that updates itself.

Option 1: Pull information from within your site that's already being updated. Take your News Section for instance - Idea Bank can program an area on your home page that will feature news "teasers" that direct visitors to the full story. This allows you to build content in two areas with no extra work.

Idea Bank has developed this type of dynamic content for several clients, including:

    - Arthritis Center of Nebraska
    - Grand Island Public Schools

Testimonials:

Creating sites with all the answers

"I was looking for information on a rheumatologist for my mother and ran into the Arthritis Center of Nebraska website... Nice website and very easy to get around in. Then I noticed who put it together! It was really the only website I could find in Nebraska and it answered all my questions. Good job!"
