Carla Maurer

Finance Management

Carla calls on her 30 years of experience to keep IdeaBank’s financial ledger shipshape.

Carla has a head for numbers and a soul for mission work. As finance manager and human resources coordinator at IdeaBank, she keeps debits and credits in their proper places, makes sure employee paperwork is up to date and jumps in anywhere she can lend a hand.

Carla grew up in Hartington, came to Central Nebraska to earn her associate’s degree in accounting at Spencer School of Business in Grand Island and never left. For 30 years, she put her financial talents to work helping Grand Island area nonprofits complete their missions.

She’s also helped cities around the region recover from natural disasters as Volunteer in Mission coordinator for the United Methodist Churches in Grand Island. After raising her children and leading them in activities such as Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts, Carla took on her own project — first as a mission team member and then as coordinator. Every year, she organizes a weeklong trip to a community recovering from an event such as a tornado or flooding.

Carla and her husband, Mark, live in Doniphan. They have a daughter and son-in-law, Ashley and Tyler, and granddaughter, Avery; as well as a son, Heath.
