Reach Your Social Potential
3 ways to more effectively reach your social media audience
Social media marketing is a rapidly changing game. If you pay attention to the performance of your social media posts (especially on Facebook), then you’ve noticed that it’s turning more and more towards a “pay-to-play” approach for Pages content. Here are some ways to more effectively reach people through social media without spending money.
Schedule!
I cannot stress this enough: planning a social media schedule is one of the most important things you can do for your page. It will make your life easier AND make your pages more effective.
If you don’t pay for a more advanced social media management service, you can at least schedule posts through Facebook. Simply click the arrow next to the “post” button to set a time and date for your post to launch. You can even edit your posts or reschedule them.
Make genuine connections
Put a face on your company’s social media page. Share photos of life around the office and news like work anniversaries, new employees and other big events for your organization. Tagging them will dramatically increase the chances of their friends seeing these posts. And it’s well worth your time to connect with other pages, especially in the community.
Share interesting articles, videos and images
It’s pretty obvious that photos and videos get more engagement than a text post alone. I try to never publish a post without at least having a photo to accompany it. Sharing is also great for your page, whether it’s content you find on your news feed or an article on the Internet.
One word of caution: make sure you can relate shared content to your page somehow. Cat videos are great, but unless you’re a pet store then it will probably hurt your business’ professionalism and credibility.
Social media can be a great way to connect with customers (and IMHO, it’s a pretty important piece of any modern marketing strategy), but it takes time, effort and know-how. Contact IdeaBank today for a more effective and professional social media presence.
