I am choosing this charity due to the impact that Jett is continuing to make on peoples lives. I was a nanny for Jett for a year and a half and loved our time together! After Jett passed away his amazing parents started Fighter Jett to provide resources and opportunities for children to have access to play, health and mental care, education, safety and all other aspects of being a happy, healthy child!

The small but vibrant community of Crete was losing their historic theater until the Blue River Arts Council was formed. Despite the pandemic, we restored the Isis Theatre and are planning more activities to revitalize our community and celebrate our diverse cultures. I've been actively involved in these efforts as the arts are near and dear to my heart.

As a mentor for YPB, I have witnessed firsthand how these young people develop an understanding of philanthropy’s impact on community well-being. Supporting the Youth Philanthropy Board also means investing in young leaders who are gaining practical skills in donor engagement, stewardship, and volunteerism. This experience helps instill a deep sense of community accountability and a proactive approach to service that I hope stays with them for a lifetime. By supporting this cause, we’re not only nurturing their future but also enriching our own communities with civic-minded individuals ready to carry the torch forward!

Voice for Companion Animals provides pet owners with emergency care, supplies and food delivery directly to pet owners, as well as fostering and adoption of animals, if needed. I think this is so important because for many people their pet is not just a pet but family. VCA helps pet owners keep their pets and get the assistance they need. Sometimes a pet owner just needs a little extra help to get through a difficult time. I think this group is amazing and I am so impressed with the AniMeals food delivery. It is heartwarming to know they provide all of these services at no cost to the pet owner.
