Jack Sheard

Marketing Strategist

Although Jack’s school communications experience included announcing snow days, you can count on him to never leave you stranded without the right words to say.

Jack Sheard hits the ground running — not only in his daily exercise regimen but in his professional life, too. Detail oriented and brimming with energy, he comes in with a plan and puts it in motion.

A marathon and half-marathon veteran, Jack has been on the communications track even longer — a couple of decades, in fact. That includes seven years at the Grand Island Independent, the final two as online director. He then served for eight years as marketing and communication coordinator for Grand Island Public Schools, a 10,000-student district. He puts that unique experience to work coaching school districts on communications planning, as well as finding creative marketing solutions for a wide variety of other clients.

Jack grew up in Waverly and graduated from the University of Nebraska at Kearney in 2000 with a Bachelor of Science in journalism/mass communication and a minor in multimedia. He has earned recognition from the National School Public Relations Association and has served as president of its Nebraska affiliate.

At home, his attention to detail extends to everything from family finances to grocery shopping. He begins by making a menu, then a shopping list and tracks each item’s cost as he fills his cart. Finally, he bags the groceries himself, arranging them in the order he’ll unpack them at home. Jack and his wife, Melissa, have two sons, Andrew, serving in the U.S. Air Force; and Calvin.
